PHOTOSHOOT IV:

FASHION SHOW

THE MIDDLE EAST THROUGH CONSTRUCTION

fashion done the architect's way

architecture and fashion?: After delving into fashion photography and years of constructing physical architectural models, I decided to meld the two. I began to explore the idea of constructing garments the way an architect would know how to, utilizing non-conventional materials, items found in a hardware store, machinery found in a wood shop, laser cutters, and architectural design software such as AutoCAD and Rhinoceros. The following is my journey in construction and fusion of architecture and fashion. There are 25 pieces total, but only a select few shown. The show was commissioned by the Arab Student Organization of the University of Virginia and inspired by the Middle East’s culture and social, religious, and political status of the region. The initial  images in part 4 are a graphic social commentary.
